Biography
A Trusted Neutral for High-Stakes Civil Matters Across the West
Christopher D. Stickland brings more than two decades of civil litigation experience to his role as a panelist at Sorensen Mediation, where he provides mediation, arbitration, and consulting services throughout Arizona and the western United States. He focuses on complex civil matters, including bodily injury, property damage, bad faith, and construction defect claims.
Admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2000 and the Arizona Bar in 2001, Christopher’s legal career has included roles as lead trial attorney, litigation supervisor, and claims advisor to several major insurance carriers. His work with State Farm, Zurich Insurance, and Farmers Insurance—as well as his tenure with American Family Insurance—has given him deep insight into the dynamics of negotiation, risk analysis, and resolution strategy across multiple jurisdictions.
Throughout his career, Christopher has managed litigated matters with excess values exceeding $1 million, and has made resolution decisions in jurisdictions including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. His responsibilities have included oversight of outside counsel, developing litigation strategy, and guiding favorable outcomes in both personal and commercial lines.
In December 2022, Christopher was inducted into the Arizona Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN). He completed advanced mediation training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law in 2023, with a focus on mediating the litigated case.
